Hi, I’m Liz, and welcome to The Kozy Kafé!
I’m a corporate girlie by day and a writer by night, and The Kozy Kafé is my K-pop and Asian drama blog: a cozy corner for the music and shows I’ve loved for years.
What’s brewing here
- K-pop and J-pop: song rankings, cozy playlists, relistens and fun listicles from my years-long obsession, including The SM Rewind, my deep dive back through SM Entertainment’s artists discographies
- K-dramas, C-dramas and J-dramas: reviews, recaps and recommendations from more than a decade of watching
- Book pairings: every now and then, a romance read for when you finish a drama and aren’t ready to let go
A little about me
- How I got here: I started watching K-dramas around 2014 with my grandma, then branched out to C-dramas and J-dramas on my own around 2017. K-pop found me in 2016. I had my intense fangirl era from about 2017 to 2020, but these days I’m more of a casually heavy listener: I’m here for the music, not the fandom wars. 🎧
- My usual order: a classic hot chocolate, always. I’ve also had a soft spot before for chai and pumpkin spice chai lattes, especially this time of year. 🍂
- My all-time favorite K-pop groups: EXO, TWICE and GFRIEND
- My all-time favorite J-pop groups: FRUITS ZIPPER and Takane no Nadeshiko (Karen Na Ivory is also climbing up the list!)
- My weakness: SM Entertainment groups and cutesy girl groups. If there’s a sweet concept, a pastel color palette and a catchy chorus, I’m probably already listening. 🎀
About the content notes
My faith matters to me, and I’m becoming more and more intentional about what I watch, read and listen to, so The Kozy Kafé steers clear of graphic, highly explicit and deeply occult content. When something I recommend has mature moments, I’ll flag it with a content note so you know what to expect before you press play. If you’re a viewer with similar convictions, or a parent checking what’s okay for your kids or teens, I hope these notes help you choose with confidence.
I hope this café can be a trusted place for:
- readers and viewers with similar convictions
- parents looking for family-friendly Asian music and shows for their kids and teens
- anyone who just wants a cozy, drama-free (well, mostly 😉) corner of the internet
Pull up a chair
Grab a warm drink, browse the menu, and stay as long as you like. I’m so glad you’re here. ☕💕
